Nokia D1C Running Android Nougat Spotted on GeekBench

Nokia was one of the giants in the global mobile market before the industry went through a major change. The company folded a few years ago by selling its mobile business to Microsoft and even Redmond couldn’t find its feet in the competitive market. The Nokia brand still holds a lot of value today and it’s now being revived. The upcoming Nokia Android smartphone has been spotted on GeekBench where it has revealed some of its specifications.

Nokia, which at one point of time was a global heavyweight and the absolute leader in most markets, fell to the Android revolution. However in their second coming, the company does not want to miss out on any opportunities and does not want to make the mistakes they made last time. The Nokia D1C is now an Android powered smartphone from Nokia. Based on the Geekbench listings, the smartphone looks rather impressive. Let us take a look at the specs and features as seen on the benchmarking website.

This time, it would be a mid-range device which is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit Octa-Core 1.4 GHz processor along with the 3GB of RAM. For now, the further specifications are unknown, as the web does not show them, but they were held up to five tests, being the highest in ‘Single-Core’ 682 and ‘Multi-Core’ 3229.

Even some other rumors indicate that the screen would be around 5.2 or 5.5 inches, placing it as a phablet for the mid-range market. This formula would be quite nice, however, the chosen resolution would be critical to its success. Just a big company like Nokia, you can expect anything.

Nokia said in a statement, “Under a strategic agreement covering branding rights and intellectual property licensing, Nokia Technologies will grant HMD global Oy (HMD), a newly-founded company based in Finland, an exclusive global license to create Nokia-branded mobile phones and tablets for the next ten years.” This statement was in act and is very much increasing the excitement in Nokia lovers.

Furthermore, the website also reveals that the device would come with Android 7.0 Nougat. There are rumors which also say there could be a total of three or four devices in the process, one of which would be the Nokia D1C, two that come with the Snapdragon 820 and possibly the fourth one could be a smartphone or tablet as we hinted earlier.
