WhatsApp could soon allow users to Revoke and Editing of Sent Messages

WhatsApp is getting the endless number of requested features in the coming updates. This has been an eventful year for WhatsApp. These features create controversies across the globe regarding their updated privacy policy. 2016 is the truly adventurous period for this popular messaging service.

The Facebook-owned messaging service is looking for some significant updates in the coming year, and it seems like it hasn’t done updating for this year. As per the sources, WhatsApp has included the latest feature in the iOS Beta update. This feature will allow the user to revoke the messages and edit the sent messages.

Although these are hidden and aren’t directly available to the public yet, hence it’s possible that WhatsApp might drop them before releasing. Additionally, the tipster mentions that if the sender revokes a read or unread message, the data which can be just a text or a media file like image/video, will be deleted from the recipient’s phone as well. Furthermore, the build also has a new delete icon next to your status which basically, lets you completely remove the entry as WhatsApp has been also working on a timeline feature.

The Twitter account put out a video which shows how the messages can be revoked in the iOS version of instant-messaging app. According to the leak, WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.17.1.869 is where this ability has been spotted; apparently users can revoke a message even after it has been read by the recipient. This revoke feature also extends to group chat messages.

The feature works even for photos and videos as well in individual or group conversations, only for recently sent messages. We do not know some of the details – it is unclear whether you can delete a message just shortly after sending it (as the use of “repentance” of Gmail ) or if this is true for an unlimited time, for example.

The news is present for some users of version 2.17.1.869 of WhatsApp Beta for iOS. While in Android, the new version has not yet come for beta testers.
