Kickass Torrents is back, or at least it is reported to be. According to a TorrentFreak report, Kickass Torrents’ original staffers have brought the defunct website back to life under a new domain name, with all its old content and former glory.
According to recent reports, the site has been refreshed by its original staffers at a new URL. Kickass Torrents had its domains seized earlier this year, after founder Artem Vaulin was arrested in Poland earlier this year, effectively shutting down the largest torrent website in the world at the time.
Just after the death of KickassTorrents, a number of fake proxies arrived on the scene. This also helped the other lesser known torrent websites to gain popularity. Back in July, Katcr.co was a result of the original KickassTorrent staffers who grouped to build a community website. However, it didn’t offer any torrent links.
Now the same domain Katcr.co was launched again by a larger group of KickassTorrent employees and guess what? the website is loaded with torrents. The websites share the same look like the deceased Kat.cr. According to Torrent Freak, the Kat.cr team said them that the majority of original KAT admins and crew have already joined to a new site.
The KATcr team behind the new katcr.co/new site promises that the pirates are safe and secure at its new portal.
"In order to keep our members safe we chose to rebuild and keep only safe elements. Despite the fact that a rebuild took longer, the safety of our community comes first," one of the team members told TorrentFreak.
They staffers have point out that their site has a proper ‘DMCA takedown procedure’, just like websites like YouTube, saying that they do not store any copyrighted material on their own servers.
