The Noida-based startup had shocked the whole tech world in February 2016 announcing the world’s cheapest phone. Freedom 251 is available through their official site at the price of just Rs. 251 which actually created lots of controversies.
Now a new company ChampOne Communications has announced it will sell its C1 Android smartphone for as low as Rs 501 ($7). The ChampOne C1 seems like a decent mid-range smartphone on paper.
If we talk about its specifications, it comes up with a huge 5-inch smartphone with a HD IPS display powered by a 1.3-GHz MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM with 16GB of onboard expandable storage. There's an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel camera in the front, a 2,500 mAh battery and of course, a fingerprint reader. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop
Now if we talk about the most appealing features then ChampOne C1 is 4G LTE enabled and dual SIM compatible. It also features a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone. Fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, and 2GB RAM is the most appealing features of the phone.
The phone by ChampOne Communications isn't actually priced Rs 501. Instead, its pretty reasonably priced at Rs 8,000. But the company is giving away the phones for that throwaway price only to a select few chosen for the first flash sale scheduled September 2.
However, if you are thinking to buy the phone then let me tell you the smartphone is not easy to buy. For now, only Registered users can apply for its flash share the best part is the phone is available via COD (Cash on Delivery). So what else do you need?
