How to Unlock Bootloader on Samsung Galaxy Note 10 / Note 10 Plus – Exynos Variants

For new Galaxy Note 10 / Note 10 Plus owners, here is a detailed guide on how you can unlock bootloader of your phone. Moving away from shipping phones that can be flashed directly without any major unlock required, new Samsung phones are now being sold with locked bootloaders. Fortunately, the process to unlock it is quite straight forward and there is no modification / wait required to do it. In fact, everything is built-in and you just need to follow the correct procedure which we have detailed ahead.

Our Galaxy Note 10 unlock bootloader guide will work with all Note 10 devices such as standard Galaxy Note 10, Note 10 5G, Note 10+ and even Note 10+ 5G. However, there is just one prerequisite, the phone should be an Exynos variant.

Prerequisites:
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10 / Note 10+ / Note 10 5G / Note 10+ 5G.
  • Device should be Exynos Variant – Read: Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Model Numbers.
  • USB Type-C Cable that should be connected to a Computer.
NOTE: Procedure ahead will wipe your phone / factory reset it. Make sure you make a complete backup of all your data first.

1. On your phone, enable Developer Mode.

2. Once Developer Mode is enabled, go to the Settings menu and browse down and select Developer Options.

3.  Within the menu, you should see OEM Unlocking, enable it!

NOTE: Some devices might have this option grayed out. There are two reasons for it, either your device is a non-Exynos variant or you have been using your phone for less than 7 days. If latter is the case, check back in a week.

4.  Now, power off the device. Do so by pulling down the notification center and clicking on the Power Icon on the top right.

5. Get your USB Type-C cable. While the phone is turned off, press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down keys. Connect the USB cable without letting go off the buttons.

6 . You should see a blue screen with Warning written on it. From here, let go of the volume buttons. Now, just press and hold Volume Up to confirm Bootloader Unlock.

7. The phone will now unlock itself and boot back into Android. This may take some time so be patient.
