Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday announced that Reliance Jio, which has achieved unprecedented level of acceptance in the world, has crossed a subscriber base of 100 million in record time.
"Jio has risen to lofty heights only because of affection shown by first 100 million customers," said Mukesh Ambani while thanking the millions of customers who have made Jio a huge success.
Mukesh Ambani confirmed that existing Jio subscribers would be offered a chance to enjoy the current (Happy New Year) plan, which is set to expire at the end of March 31 at the cost of just Rs 99 for a full year.
If you subscribe to Jio Prime, you will be eligible for a special plan where you need to pay Rs 303 per month to enjoy the ‘Unlimited’ services. Well, it will be worth to notice that unlimited data is the FUP-attached plan where users will get 1GB full 4G speed and after the limit is crossed the speed will be drop down to 128Kbps.
According to Mr. Mukesh Ambani ” Jio users make more than 200 crore minutes of voice and video calls. And when it comes to data before Jio, India was 150th in the world in broadband penetration. But, just 5 months after Jio’s launched, the Jio users consumed more than 100 crore GB of data on the Jio network! That is more than 3.3 crore GB a day.
Today, India is the number one country in the world for mobile data usage. Jio users consume nearly as much mobile data as the entire United States of America.
And nearly 50% more mobile data than all of China. A significant portion of this data is consumed as video and Jio carries nearly 5.5 crore hours of video daily on its network. This makes Jio one of the largest mobile video networks globally.”
The registrations for Jio Prime membership starts March 1 and end March 31. Users who join the Jio network on or before March 31 this year will also be eligible for Jio Prime membership. Existing users can enroll via MyJio app or log into company’s website as well as via Jio offline stores to enroll into Jio Prime membership plan.
Well, to subscribe to Jio Prime, users can use MyJio app or can visit any telecom shop or Jio store and let the staff of these stores enable the Jio prime membership for your Jio number.
