Nokia 3310 Officially Returned At Rs. 3,500 in India

The rumours are true – the Nokia 3310 is back, and it even has Snake. The updated version of the early noughties icon, famed for its seemingly indestructible qualities, was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Sunday.

We already know the return of Nokia running Android operating system is one of the most important novelties of this year. In January, we have seen Nokia 6 was introduced which is a mid-range device.

It’s been almost 17 years since the 3310 first came out. In that time the Nokia brand has been bought, sold, and stripped for parts. At one point the 3310 even made a comeback, in the form of a wonky Windows Phone device with a huge camera bump that didn’t exactly excite the buying public. The company now making Nokia phones is HMD Global, a private equity-backed firm created explicitly to make new Nokia phones. For their first act, the new owners set about restoring the 3310 to its former glory, while bringing the beloved old phone into the new era.

“Nokia has been one of the most iconic andrecognisable phone brands globally for decades. In the short time since HMD was launched into the market, the positive reception we’ve had has been overwhelming; it seems everyone shares our excitement for this next chapter," Arto Nummela, CEO of HMD Global, said at the launch.

Nokia has resurrected the classic mobile phone at MWC 2017, with a few new tweaks. First of all, the new Nokia 3310 looks fresher and slicker compared to its predecessor. Here are the some of the features that New Nokia 3310 carries.
  • The Phone will have 22-hours of talk time and will have 1-month standby time
  • It will have default Nokia ringtone and will be available in multiple color options
  • The phone even has a camera of 2megapixel with LED Flash
  • The display of the phone is extended to 2.4-inch QVGA
  • The phone will have Dual-SIM support and LED Torchlight
  • The phone will support MicroSD card which supports up to 32GB.
  • The phone has microUSB connector, 3.5mm connector and Bluetooth 3.0.

The Nokia 3310 is the Nokia brand's one of the best-selling feature phones of all time, and it has been priced at EUR 49 (roughly Rs. 3,500) -significantly less than its original price of £129. Carphone Warehouse has already opened pre-registrations for the device on its website.
