iPhone Users Can Now Send WhatsApp Messages OFFLINE

WhatsApp’s latest update for iOS adds the ability for queuing up messages in case a user goes offline, so that they can be sent once the Internet comes back on. The update also brings a redesigned storage usage screen, which will let users manage their phone’s storage better. The app has also added the ability to share 30 photos or videos in one go.

WhatsApp is inarguably the most popular messaging app, with more than a billion users who use it to stay connected with family and friends. When these people are in trains or places which have limited or no internet connectivity, there is a problem in sending texts via WhatsApp, so there was a need to go back to the App and send the texts which also required to check for connectivity every now and then. Now, you can send the text and the app will automatically send it to you when if finds a connection.

The app update also carries another much-requested feature: the ability to manage storage in specific chats. In the past, WhatsApp could display the amount of space occupied by different message types — like text, photos, and videos — but it lacked deep, granular control. Now, the Storage Usage screen within Settings has been expanded so users can delete by message type in individual conversations.

Additionally WhatsApp has redesigned the ‘storage usage screen’ on iOS in order to let users better understand how to clear up space on their iPhone. Users can go to Settings>Data and Storage Usage> Storage Usage (which is right at the bottom of the tab) and then see which messages, groups etc are taking the most space. You can tap on messages, chats which are occupying a lot of space, and just clear them to free up some space on your phone.

The update also brings the capability of sending 30 photos and videos in one instance. So if you are one of those who like to send many photos to WhatsApp groups all at once, then the update should bring you some cheer. WhatsApp iOS version 2.1.7.1 update is ready for download from the App Store.

This comes as great news, especially for a country like India which suffers from low speed or no internet connectivity in many areas. India is the biggest market for WhatsApp with more than 160 million monthly active users.
