Nokia executive Mike Wang, president of the joint management team in China, has confirmed that 3 or perhaps 4 new Nokia-branded Android devices are set to be unveiled in the fourth quarter of 2016. These devices will be split between new smartphone and tablet launches.
According to us, the company might launch two smartphones along with a Nokia tablet. However, Mike Wang wasn't sure on how many devices will Nokia launch whether it be three devices or perhaps four devices. That said, we might see a Nokia branded tablet for sure this year.
Nokia has been quite hush about its plans for the upcoming devices, but we have already come across a couple of them on the rumor mills. A recent report claimed that Nokia will make a comeback with two new smartphones running Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box with premium metal design and also IP68 certification making it water resistant. More rumors and leaks supports this statement as specifications and features of the Nokia smartphones are revealed.
The two mobiles which have leaked are likely to feature a 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch displays. The report says both the devices will sport OLED display with Quad HD resolution. The 5.5-inch variant is expected to sport a 22.6-megapixel rear camera, and pricing for the smartphones are expected to start from around Rs 30,000.
But the rumors don’t stop there. There have been leaks of alleged smartphones dubbed as the Nokia C1 and the Nokia P1. The report also suggests that Nokia smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and will be running Z-Launcher UI based on Android Nougat. With Android N final launch likely to happen in October, its likely that Nokia phones will debut only after Nexus launch.
But, there is still no official information about the new phones from Nokia, Accumulating all the rumors and leaks, we can surely say that Nokia is coming back with a bang. But will this be enough for the lost company’s revival? We can only wait and see.
