Windows 10 Free Upgrade Offer Will End on July 29

Microsoft Windows 10 achieves milestone of 300 million active users. PC sales are decreasing every quarter, despite of this, Windows 10 is still flourishing. The company said that the free Windows 10 upgrade will end on July 29. The latest OS from the company now runs on 300 million devices which includes laptops, desktops, smartphones, Xbox One consoles.

Microsoft on Thursday announced that Windows 10 is now used on 300 million active devices. The company also recapitulated that the free upgrade offer will end on July 29. 1 billion computers across the world are using various versions of Windows.

The free upgrade offer was always scheduled to last for one year, but Microsoft has reiterated this point in a Windows Blog post. Opening with the news that Windows 10 is now running on 300 million active devices, Microsoft then stated, “The free upgrade offer will end on July 29 and we want to make sure you don’t miss out”.

That does not mean there may not be a bump in growth over the next three months: Laggards will certainly take the upgrade as the deadline nears, trying to make it under the wire. But those month-over-month increases will just mask the fact that the offer has served its purpose.

After July 29th, you’ll be able to continue to get Windows 10 on a new device, or purchase a full version of Windows 10 Home for $119,” you could get it at slightly low price if you don’t purchase it from Microsoft directly.

If you upgrade today, not only will you get your hands on a ton of new awesome stuff that will work as soon as you upgrade, upgrading now means you’re going to get all future updates for free, like the Anniversary update that’s coming soon.

People at home, school, large companies “adopt Windows 10 faster than ever, and use Windows 10 more than ever before”. The company also quoted some examples which we have mentioned below :

  • “Over 63 billion minutes were spent on Microsoft Edge in March alone, with 50% growth in minutes since the last quarter.
