How to Enable Video Calling on WhatsApp And Unlock Hidden Features For Rooted Android Users

Whatsapp is about to roll out VIDEO CALLING and UNLOCK HIDDEN FEATURES FOR  ROOTED ANDROID USERS with the version of 2.16.230 so that users can video call their friends in their Whatsapp contacts or anybody without leaving WhatsApp. You can new feature called “Multiple Forwarding” that allows you to share and forward a message to multiple contacts, at once. Here is the complete tutorial to activate Video Calling Feature on WhatsApp for Android.

The video  calling feature is there in the latest build of WhatsApp which you can download from its official website.  As this feature is still in beta testing mode, not everyone would get this with their Android devices just by downloading and installing the latest version of WhatsApp. If you don’t know how to enable it, follow this tutorial.

How to Enable Video Calling And Unlock Hidden Features For  Rooted Android Users

1. If your phone is not rooted first root your device click here.

2. You need the latest version of  Whatsapp and any root explorer.

3. Now, navigate to the following path.

Device >> data >> data >> com.whatsapp >> shared_prefs

4. On this screen, you can find some .xml files. Open com.whatsapp_preferences.xml file using the ES File Explorer File Manager app.

5. Tap on the menu button and select Edit.

6. You need to add the followings lines inside <map></map>:

<boolean name="group_invites" value="true" />
<boolean name="multicast" value="true" />
<boolean name="video_calling" value="true" />
<boolean name="two_factor_auth" value="true" />
<boolean name="doodle" value="true" />

7. Then save and force close Whatsapp from the list of applications on your phone and you are done: you unlock the hidden features!
